Getting to Australia
Flights:
Many flights from across Asia Pacific and the USA West Coast fly direct into Brisbane.
Regular flights from other main gateway cities such as Sydney make for quick and easy connections and even a stopover if you have time.
Getting around Australia
Distances between Australian cities are significant. For instance, Sydney to Brisbane is approximately 600 miles /1000 km.
There are two main airlines and their subsidiaries that service flights across Australia – Qantas and Virgin Australia. Flights between Brisbane and other major Australian cities run on a very frequent schedule.
Travel within Brisbane
Airtrain:
The Airtrain allows you to get from the airport to the City Centre and Southbank areas quickly and efficiently from both the international and the domestic airport terminals. We will be looking to obtain special Airtrain discounts for Congress attendees. Details will be posted in 2025.
Train & Bus Transport:
The train and bus system around Brisbane is very efficient and reliable and cost effective. We hope to offer a discounted GoEvent card for the period of the Congress. This will provide delegates with unlimited public transport on all South East Queensland trains, ferries, and buses not just within Brisbane but also out to the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Redlands and Moreton Bay regions.
Ferries:
With the city of Brisbane situated on the Brisbane River, the CityCat public transport system allows you to move efficiently between points in the city via the river. The KittyCats offer a free ferry service within the CBD area, including a stop at SouthBank.
