Samuel Reeves is an inspiring man with a hope-filled vision of faith, a powerful community leader, a theological scholar, and a transformational pastor. He is a family man who enjoys spending quality time with his wife, son, and extended family and friends.
Born in Monrovia, Liberia, Sam has studied and pastored in Liberia and the USA. As Senior Pastor of Providence Baptist Church, Liberia, where he has been serving for the past 19 years, Dr. Reeves has made Providence one of the most social and politically conscious churches in Liberia. Their outreach ministries ring with preferential treatment for the poor, the vulnerable, and hurting. They minister to and feed about 500 homeless men, women, and children and are in the process of building a Homeless Second-Chances Model Center with vision of senior house complexes. The DeVos Village – comprised of a Medical Center, a High School, an IT Center, and Housing Units – located in the Bo- Waterside region is another legacy ministering to and creating inter-religious dialogue with Muslims and peoples of other faith practice and extending a vision of Christian Education to other regions of Liberia, ranging from childcare programs for low income families to after-school programs for battered boys and girls.
Sam is co-founder of the National Institute of Leadership, Adjunct Professor at Liberia Baptist Seminary, President of the Liberia Baptist Missionary & Educational Convention, President of Liberia Council of Churches, Vice President of the Inter-religious Council of Liberia, and Interim President of Grand Bassa University.
