Rev. Min Cheol Im holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Korea Baptist Theological University and Seminary and a Master of Theology (M.Th.) in Homiletics from Sydney Divinity College. He is currently serving as the senior pastor of Somang Korean Baptist Church in Brisbane, Australia, a position he has faithfully held for the past ten years.
He began his ministry journey at the age of 16, preaching to Sunday school children to assist his father, who was a Baptist pastor. He later served for nine years at Gangnam Central Baptist Church, one of the largest congregations in Korea, where he ministered to Sunday school children, high school students, and university students, eventually serving as the Education Pastor.
After relocating to Australia, he led Korean ministries for ten years at Cherrybrook Community Life Church in Sydney. In 2014, he moved to Brisbane and began his pastoral ministry at Somang Korean Baptist Church. Under his leadership, the church has grown from 4 life groups to 19, and has developed vibrant ministries for children and young adults.
Rev. Im is passionate about preaching, discipleship, and raising the next generation of faith-filled leaders. His pastoral vision focuses on building a Christ-centered community that lives out the gospel in both word and action.
