Ceu Lian Thang earned his Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Myanmar Institute of Theology in Insein, Rangoon, in 1992. He began his pastoral journey at Lai Baptist Church, serving for two years before moving to Los Angeles on a student visa.
In 1999, he completed his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) and later relocated to Dallas to support refugees seeking political asylum. He worked full-time at Refugee Services of Texas, serving as an Employment Coordinator in 2007. After five years in that role, he transitioned back to ministry as a pastor at Texas Chin Baptist Church. In July 2022, he was nominated and chosen as the General Secretary of the Chin Baptist Churches USA (CBCUSA), a position he currently holds.
