Fred Astle (Tainui ? New Zealand) works in a shared leadership model with Visionwest Waka Whakakitenga?s Tumu Whakarae/CEO. Fred oversees the wh?nau-facing support services provided by Visionwest.
In his previous role as Head of M?ori Development and Education, he led the M?ori leadership team to support Kaupapa M?ori development across Visionwest. Fred has extensive experience in M?ori healthcare and education, including work with government groups, various tertiary institutions and other non-profits. He is an Honorary Prof. Teacher Fellow in Surgery at The University of Auckland and is the Director of Kaupapa M?ori for The University of Auckland, Surgical and Translational Research Centre, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.
